TEMPORARY DISABILITY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TDAP)

The Temporary Disability Assistance Program (TDAP), formerly called TEMHA, is available to help low-income, disabled Marylanders with no other resources, to obtain cash, medical, and housing assistance. The program is funded through the State of Maryland to provide help to individuals without dependent children.
Eligibility
- Must have a total disability confirmed by a medical form which indicates a physical examination.
- The impairment can be either physical or mental.
- The intitial determination of disability must show that it will last for at least three months.
- Must be finacially needy.
- Cannot be eligible for another category of assistance.
- Citizenship requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen or an Alien who is legally admitted for permanent residence.
The Electronic Benefit Transfer System (EBTS)
The Electronic Benefit Transfer System (EBTS) allows recipients to access their cash assistance and/or food stamp benefits through the use of an ATM card at designated ATM machines at banks and in grocery stores. On-site training is available each day for customers to access their accounts.

You may apply for TDAP at our Office Monday through Friday 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
