THE MARYLAND CHILDREN'S HEALTH PROGRAM

Who is eligible?
This program provides health insurance coverage for average to low-income children (up to the age of 19) and pregnant women (of any age).

What Medical Services are included?

  • hospital care
  • prescription medicine
  • prenatal doctor visits and hospital delivery bill
  • mental health, drug and alcohol abuse services
  • doctor visits and check-ups
  • dental and vision care
  • shots, lab work and tests
  • home health

How do I apply?
Complete an application and mail it in or drop off at your local Health Department. You can obtain an application at the local Health Department and other places like school-based health centers, Head Start, WIC Centers or the local Department of Social Services. Those found eligible for the new program will receive an enrollment packet in the mail so that they can choose a Managed Care Organization (MCO).
