MEDICAL ASSISTANCE (MEDICAID)

Medical Assistance is comprehensive health care insurance for aged and/or disabled adults and families with low income.
Who may be Eligible
- Recipients of Temporary Cash Assistance and Federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) are automatically qualified for Medical Assistance.
- Adults and their dependent children with low income if one parent is absent, unemployed, deceased or disabled..
- Disabled and elderly adults who are not receiving SSI.
- Adults receiving MEDICARE may be eligible to have their monthly premiums and co-payments paid by Medicaid.
- Pregnant women (of any age) and children (up to the age of 19) may qualify for the Maryland Children's Health Program.
