The Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) provides heating assistance grants to fuel suppliers and utility companies on behalf of eligible participants. The Electric Universal Service Program (EUSP) provides assistance with electric bills.

OHEP is a year round program. You can apply any time of the year, but you MUST re-apply each year.

Things To Know

• Grants do not have to be paid back. Grant amounts vary by income level of the household and by fuel type.
• If you live in subsidized housing and your heat is included in your rent, you are not eligible for a MEAP grant, but you might be eligible for an EUSP grant.
• In order to get an EUSP grant, the electric bill must be in your name and you must agree to a budget billing payment plan.
• Continue to make payments on all your energy bills so you will not get behind on these bills.
